National Sports Authority Boss Prof Peter Twumasi inspects the ongoing renovation works at Baba Yara and he was assisted by the NSA’s Regional Director, Mr Edmund Appiah.

The Derictor General toured the stands and washrooms where replacement of seats and WCs are currently being carried out.

Prof Twumasi interacted with workers on site and observed high level of enthusiasm and dedication to duty among them. They were optimistic of getting the entire broken green seats detached from base within the week.

It is expected that the renovation works which includes the pitch, tartan tracks, seats, scoreboard, flood lights and painting will be completed three months earlier than the one year contract period.

Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium has never seen a major renovation works since 2008 when it was as one of the centres for that year’s Cup of Nations staged here in Ghana under former Prez Kuffour.
