The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Kwame Baffoe Abronye, on Friday stormed Wamfie, the home town of Sammy Gyamfi, National Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) with his retail campaign tour.

What was meant to be a normal campaign tour to Wamfie turned out to be a stunning experience as the home of Sammy Gyamfi offered Abronye DC and his team an unimaginable tumultuous welcome.

Scores of youth met Chairman Abronye and his executives at the entrance of Wamfie in the outskirts and led him into the town, went through the principal streets of Wamfie then to his destination.

As his entourage slowly headed to the durbar grounds, scores of people, both young and old poured out in their numbers and followed him to the venue, the venue that had been hostile to Sammy Gyamfi and John Mahama some few days ago whilst they were in the region.

The party supporters defied heavy rains on a very wet night jamming and dancing on the streets to throw their weight behind the regional Chairman.

As part of innovations and strategies to obtain first round victory for President Akufo-Addo and win all parliamentary seats in the Bono Region, the party in the region is vigorously embarking on a retail campaign which involves spending a day in a constituency visiting at least three communities, organise rallies, interacting with people in their homes, in the markets, food joints, streets among others to solicit for votes.

Chairman Kwame Baffoe Abronye in his remarks at the durbar grounds commended the people for rallying behind him and supporting him in their high numbers; I appreciate every bit of this loyalty and commitment. I can say with the highest optimism that today’s rains are showers of political blessing upon the elephant fraternity ahead of the December polls “he said.”

He cautioned them against skirt and blouse voting saying, as a campaign strategy the opposition National Democratic Congress have planted independent parliamentary candidates across the country particularly where the NPP won with little margin just to reduce the parliamentary seats of the NPP to enhance their chances.

Abronye said Ghanaians have witnessed the efficient management of the country by voting President Akufo-Addo into office in 2016 and it is good enough reason to renew the mandate of the governing party to steers the affairs of the country in the right direction.

The Parliamentary candidate for Dormaa East, Mr Paul Twum Barimah appeal to the people to remain focused and resolute and do not get sway by unrealistic promises from the NDC, adding that a vote for him will be a vote for prosperity for all in the Dormaa East constituency.
