The President of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana, NALAG who doubles as the District Chief Executive Officer for Gomoa West, Bismark Baisie Nkum says the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic has affected the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies and has called on Central government for bailout so that they can achieve their programs earmarked for the year.

According to the President of the Association the two hundred sixty (260) district Assemblies have not been able to collect their prescribed taxes and market tolls due to the outbreak which has impacted negatively on their revenue.

Speaking at the press conference after their Nationawide engagement with the various Assemblies on the COVID-19 pandemic he commended the president for the measure outline for stop the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.

Mr Bismark Baisie Nkum said per the directives of the President for reopening of schools for last year students to go back to complete their studies they have put in the relevant measures to mitigate the spread of coronavirus in the schools.
