Former Vice President of Ghana Football Association and Bankroller of Okyeman Planners George Afriyie has today issued a statement staying out of a possible appointment from Kotoko board to lead the club as Chief Executive officer.

As part of institutional restructuring that is happening at the Kumasi based club, the new constituent board of directors have dissolved the management and now on the hunt for new personalities to fill the void.

Reports in the local news in the past few weeks has reported that, Kotoko has identify two former GFA Presidential hopefuls George Afriyie and Nana Yaw Amponsah to occupy the CEO position.

In response to the reports linking him to the Kotoko job, George has stated that he is proud to be linked to such a top job but occupy now and won’t be available for the job.

The statement from George means, Phar Rangers President Nana Yaw is now in pole position to get the nod to lead the 24-time Ghana premier league winners.
