The Municipal Chief Executive for Wenchi, Dr. Prince Kwakye Afiriyie has visited all four (4) Senior High Schools within the Municipality as part of reopening to final year students and gold track SHS form 2, pupils .

The visit afforded him to familiarize himself with registration and operations of the various senior high schools and to check their level of compliance with Covid-19 safety measures and other academically related issues .

Among the schools he visited were,Istiqaama senior high school, Koase senior high technical school, Nchiraa senior high school and Wenchi Methodist senior high school respectively.

The school authorities said students on arrival were asked to wash their hands with soap under running water,body temperature checks and later assigned to a well demarcated dormitory .

After assessing the situation, Dr. Prince Kwakye Afiriyie expressed satisfaction in the orderly manner at which both the gold track SHS two and final year students were being admitted into the various schools within the Wenchi Municipality for their exit examinations.

The MCE commended management and staff for their roles in ensuring a safe environment for the students.

Mr. Afiriyie assured school authorities and students of a scholarship to the brilliant but needy students to excell well at the WASSCE to further their tertiary education also for free of charge.

You children are lucky because your parents enjoy free maternity during your birth, you also enjoy free basic education and when you get to senior high school the commander in chief of the Ghana armed forces, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo also brought in free SHS education, so you have no choice than to pass your exam to glorifies the country Dr Prince Kwakye Afiriyie noted.
